Reduce Stress Through Self-Care

Mindfulness Mondays

On Monday mornings, we run a program at Mountain View Middle School where we bring in practitioners of different mindfulness modalities and teach students how to implement these skills to reduce stress. These modalities include yoga, juggling, vision boarding, visual arts, martial arts, dance and movement arts, meditation, journaling, yoyo, and more.

Getting to Y

Getting to Y is a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) project where teens examine and interpret data from the Prevention Needs Assessment Survey. The group brings in thoughts and ideas from their peers as well as the broader community. Based on the data and all of the peer and community input, the Getting to Y Team then plans and implements action steps to improve the school and surrounding community.
